Mindful Breathing and Yoga
In yoga Mindful Breathing is paying attention to the breath, to be aware of its rhythms and the sensation it creates as it moves within the body. It is feeling connected to our breath in the moment and learning to let go of resistance so that our energy can flow freely. Mindful Breathing is the key to relaxation.

Breathing
Breathing is one of those things often overlooked. It is an automatic bodily function; but did you know that every thought, emotion, physical condition, resistance and tension is connected to your breath.

Have you ever noticed how you breathe faster when you are afraid or hold your breath when you are tense. Your breath touches everything and vibrates in every cell of your body. If you are constantly holding your breath or breathing too shallowly or too fast, this will have an effect on how your body works and cause symptoms such as tiredness, poor concentration, sluggish digestion, anxiety and, in general, a weak immune system.

Yoga and Breathing Lessons
My breathing classes teach you how to Breathe Easy. When your breath is flowing smoothly, without resistance, you are taken back to your natural state, your mind becomes quiet and your body can relax deeply.

Mindfulness
Mindfulness is present moment awareness and focussing on the breath helps to anchor us in the moment.
Next time you are feeling overwhelmed by daily pressure try this tip: Stop whatever you are doing and bring yourself into the moment. Breathe in. Open your mouth and breathe out making a whispered ‘HA’ sound - make it feel like a long sigh. Let the anxieties of the moment flow out with the breath and feel yourself relax. When you are relaxed you will feel more clarity and be able to move forward again. Remember, do this often: PAUSE-BREATH-RELAX.
